SOLAR TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL PROCESS HEATING
WISE devised and conducted a unique two-day training programme on ‘Solar Technology for Industrial Process Heating’ with a view to impart training on solar process heating technology applications, its design, and also analyse the financial viability, and available government incentives. The programme was held on 12–13 July 2011 in the WISE Training Hall, with speakers from WISE and experts from reputed companies like Gehrlicher Solar (India) Pvt. Ltd., Valsad, Gujarat; Planters Energy Network, Theni, Tamil Nadu; Department of Energy Systems (Engineering), IIT, Mumbai; Thermax Limited, Pune; and the volunteer organisation Promoters & Researchers in Non-Conventional Energy, Dhule.
The programme witnessed the presence of 25–30 enthusiastic participants from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, New Delhi, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, representing various sectors such as the chemical process industry, agricultural processing, dairy industry, water heating and power, etc. The sessions were designed in such a manner that participants had sufficient scope for interaction with the expert speakers. The programme culminated in useful interactions between technology seekers and solution providers. The participants were highly appreciative of the content of the programme and felt that it had helped them in understanding the latest developments in the industry.
